Not too long ago I wrote about one of my best friends' passing away unexpectedly. It was
so hard because she was not only a best friend, but one of my prayer partners. My comfort was and
is that I know one day I will see her in heaven.....as she was a Christ follower, as myself.
The Lord gives us an abundantly life here, and life eternal in heaven.
Altogether I have four friends that I call my “best friends.” As I was missing my friend, Eileen,
I tried getting in touch with another best friend, Lucille. We haven't spoken for awhile but
every time we did talk, we would just pick up where we left off. She was also my prayer
partner. I started becoming concern because she wasn't answering her phone, nor responded
to holiday cards that I mailed to her. This went on for months.
As I shared my concern with my son and daughter-in-law; my daughter-in-law had Lucille's
daughter as her friend on facebook. My daughter-in-law reached out to Lucille's daughter,
Susan. Susan then reached out to me and let me know that her mother was very sick and
not sure if she was going to survive. Things took a turn for the worse. My daughter and I
went to visit her and her children. When we arrived she was unconscious. I held her hand
and spoke to her and prayed for her.
Within a couple of days Lucille, my sister in Christ, and friend, went home to be with
JESUS. I'm still missing her and Eileen. So many times I think, “I have to call them.”
But then to remind myself they are not here. When that happens yes, my heart feels
sadden, because I miss them, but I rejoice because they are with JESUS and their
loved ones.
